My name is Flint Harkness; I am running to serve you in Legislative District 5. My wife Shylo and I have lived in the Hanscom Park neighborhood since 2013 and have a son, William. I have been teaching since 2011 and am currently a resource teacher in special education. Previously I worked at Alpha School, a Level-3 behavioral school located in south Omaha, which serves as an alternative program for many Omaha-Metro School Districts. There, he studied Secondary Education with a concentration in Social Studies. Flint then furthered his education and earned a Master’s degree in the same area. He obtained his first teaching experience at Alpha School<\/a> while working with students who had a history of behavioral challenges in school. Through this experience, Flint developed a strong dedication to Special Education, which led to Flint earning an additional endorsement in the area.
